Jajarkot declared fully immunized and sustainable district

SURKHET: Jajarkot has officially been declared a fully immunized and sustainable district, marking a major milestone in public health for Karnali Province.

The declaration comes after all seven local levels of the district successfully administered all prescribed vaccines under the national routine immunization schedule.

Dr. Sunil Pun, Chief of the Health Service Office in Jajarkot, confirmed that full immunization was achieved after children aged 16 to 23 months received the complete set of vaccines as outlined in the national schedule.

As part of the campaign, thousands of children across the district received vaccinations. A special program to mark the achievement was held with the participation of health department officials, ward chairpersons, female community health volunteers, local organizations, journalists, and community representatives.

Stakeholders at the event expressed a shared commitment to maintaining this status through continued cooperation and coordination. The program also outlined a strategic framework for sustaining immunization efforts and enhancing access to child health services.

Jajarkot’s achievement has been recognized as a model success within Karnali Province, aligning with the Ministry of Health’s national goal of “Complete Vaccination for All Children.” The district’s progress highlights what is possible through strong community engagement and effective public health strategy.
