Public trust in communists growing amidst push for leftist unity: Madhav Kumar Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chair of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, has asserted a growing public trust in communist parties across Nepal, even as his party actively pursues leftist polarization to address the nation’s multifaceted challenges.

Addressing the first central committee meeting of a student organization affiliated with his party in Kathmandu on Friday, Chair Nepal underscored the imperative of political polarization to resolve issues plaguing the national economy, society, and politics.

He maintained that unification among leftist forces committed to the people is crucial for the country’s development and to guide it in the right direction. He emphasized that unity among communist parties is therefore significant.

The former prime minister also highlighted good governance, employment, and effective public service delivery as prerequisites for institutionalizing change in Nepal.

On a separate note, Chairman Nepal addressed the recent case filed against him by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) concerning a Cabinet decision on a Patanjali land swap, taken 12 years ago.

He claimed to be a target of political conspiracy but expressed confidence in receiving justice from the court. He firmly reiterated that he has never taken a bribe in his life.
