14-year-old killed, one injured in lightning strike in Makawanpur



HETAUDA: A 14-year-old boy lost his life and another person was injured after being struck by lightning during rainfall in Makawanpur today.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Aryal, spokesperson for the District Police Office Makawanpur, the deceased has been identified as Kanchha Gole of Thamalek Niwas, Kailash Rural Municipality-9.

He was struck by lightning while sitting on a cot outside his home and died on the spot.

In a separate incident, 32-year-old Krishna Bahadur Shrestha of Deurali Village, Bagmati Rural Municipality-2, sustained injuries after being struck by lightning inside his house. He is currently receiving treatment at the Raigaun Health Post, DSP Aryal confirmed.

The lightning strike also caused damage to the house of local resident Kamaljung Rana Magar, police added.
