LP Gas Industry Association calls off strike

KATHMANDU: The agitation announced by Nepal LP Gas Industry Association to be effective from Thursday has been put off.

The Association postponed the agitation after an agreement was reached between the office bearers of Nepal Oil Corporation Board, staffs and Association office-bearers to address the genuine demands of the Association.

Minister for Industry and Supplies Damodar Bhandari had asked the office-bearers of NOC and Association to sit for a dialogue to resolve the issue, after the Association announced the agitation.

He assured of addressing the genuine demands of the Association.

The Association had announced agitation putting forth various demands including price adjustment six years ago.

Earlier, the Ministry had formed a committee under coordination of Director General of the Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection, Rajan Poudel to look into the matter.

NOC Spokesperson Manoj Kumar Thakur shared that the agitation was deferred for 15 days as it would take time to further study the report submitted by the committee.
