KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population will provide free tests for non-communicable diseases for one month.
The service, which starts tomorrow (February 13), will run until the end of Fagun (March 13).
This campaign aims to raise public awareness about non-communicable diseases and their prevention.
According to Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, individuals aged 30 and above will be offered free tests for diabetes, hypertension, and kidney-related issues, along with measurements of body weight and height.
The country’s population above 50 is 14,090,000, and these services will be available at health institutions at the local level.
On December 2, 2023, the Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, approved a directive for this month-long campaign on non-communicable diseases.
Additionally, the Ministry is preparing to launch a free cervical cancer screening test during the month of Fagun (February-March).
