Home Minister directs police to investigate attacks on personnel

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has instructed Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basanta Bahadur Kunwar to investigate and hold accountable those responsible for recent incidents of police personnel being beaten and mistreated.

Minister Lekhak summoned IGP Kunwar and senior police officers to the Home Ministry on Thursday morning, expressing serious concern over the attacks on law enforcement officers while performing their duties in maintaining peace and security.

Lekhak stressed the need for a more proactive approach to ensuring public safety, citing recent incidents where security personnel were assaulted in various parts of the country.
