PM Sushila Karki expresses sorrow over Delhi blast, extends condolences to victims’ families

Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed grief over the recent explosion in Delhi. Posting on X (Twitter) and tagging Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PM Karki extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

President Paudel dismisses Madhesh Province Chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari

President Ram Chandra Paudel has dismissed Madhesh Province Chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari from her post. The President took the decision on Tuesday based on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, according to spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Koirala at the Office of the President.The Cabinet had, on Monday, recommended her removal under Article 165 (1b) of the Constitution.

Nepal, China begin talks to open Korala route to Mt. Kailash Mansarovar

Efforts have begun to open the Korala border point in Mustang as a new pilgrimage and tourism route to Mt. Kailash Mansarovar. A delegation of local representatives from Lomanthang and Lo-Ghekar Damodarkunda rural municipalities reached Dhongwachen, Tibet, to discuss opening the route connecting Korala with Mansarovar.

GenZ Movement demands dismissal of Energy Minister and NEA MD over alleged illegal power deal

The GenZ Movement Nepal has demanded the immediate dismissal of Energy Minister Kulman Ghising and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Manoj Silwal, accusing them of involvement in an illegal electricity purchase agreement. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the movement alleged that the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation and the NEA signed an unlawful agreement worth around Rs 430 million with India’s PTC India Ltd.

Nepal to conduct rhino census using genetic method after last year’s delay

The Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation (DNPWC) is preparing to conduct the long-awaited one-horned rhino census this year using a genetic (DNA-based) method. Last year, the census was halted due to budget constraints. The department, which carries out rhino censuses every four years, is also planning a tiger census this year. Officials said the rhino survey will adopt a new method, different from previous surveys, after the tiger count is completed. A technical committee meeting under the department decided to develop a protocol for conducting the census using genetic sampling.

PM Karki reviews progress on recovering misappropriated Tribhuvan University land

Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Tuesday reviewed the progress of recovering Tribhuvan University’s misappropriated land and the steps being taken to restore it. The Prime Minister held the meeting at Singha Durbar with Finance Minister Rameshwar Khanal, Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Education Minister Mahabir Pun, and Communications Minister Jagdish Kharel. TU officials, including Vice-Chancellor Prof. Deepak Aryal, Rector Prof. Khadga KC, and Registrar Prof. Kedar Prasad Rijal, were also present. Chief Secretary Ekanarayan Aryal and members of the Land Investigation Committee attended the discussion.

Ujyalo Nepal Party updated under leadership of Minister Ghising

The faction led by Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Kulman Ghising has updated the registration of the Ujyalo Nepal Party at the Election Commission. According to Assistant Spokesperson of the Commission, Prakash Neupane, the party previously chaired by Gyan Bahadur Tamang has been amended, proposing former secretary Anup Kumar Upadhyaya as the new coordinator.

Annapurna conservation area sees over 246,000 foreign tourists from January to October

The Annapurna Conservation Area Project(ACAP) has recorded the entry of 246,575 foreign tourists from January to October 2025, surpassing last year’s total of 244,045 visitors for the entire year, the ACAP reported. Among the tourists, 146,968 came from South Asian countries, while 99,607 were from other countries. April saw the highest influx with 44,763 tourists, whereas January recorded the lowest at 9,359 visitors.

SC restricts Madhesh Chief Minister Yadav from making long-term decisions

The Supreme Court has ordered newly appointed Madhesh Province Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav not to make any decisions of long-term significance. Yadav, the parliamentary party leader of CPN-UML, was appointed chief minister early Monday morning by Province Chief Sumitra Subedi Bhandari from the Panas Hotel in Bardibas, Mahottari. The move sparked protests from seven political parties. The interim order was issued by a single bench of Justice Tek Prasad Dhungana in response to a writ petition filed by Raki Prasad Yadav challenging the province chief’s decision.

256 temporary positions approved for MoHP

The government has decided to approve 256 temporary officer-level posts in various agencies under the Ministry of Health and Population. This information was shared by Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Spokesperson of the Government of Nepal, Jagadish Kharel, at a press conference organized to make public the decision of the Council of Ministers meeting on November 10. The posts have been approved for Kantibal Hospital and Health Insurance Board in Kathmandu, Geta Hospital in Dhangadhi, Sushil Koirala Cancer Hospital in Khajura, Banke and Dadeldhura Hospital in Dadeldhura.

RPP seeks clarification from Madhesh Province lawmaker Kanchan Bichha Sah for joining UML-led Cabinet

The Central Discipline Committee of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has sought a written clarification from Madhesh Province Assembly member Kanchan Bichha Sah, accusing her of violating party discipline. In a letter issued on Monday, Committee Member-Secretary Bhakti Prasad Sitoula stated that Sah joined the Cabinet led by CPN-UML parliamentary leader Saroj Yadav without consulting the party leadership or organization, an act deemed contrary to the party’s principles and interests.

Preparations underway for Martyrs’ Memorial A-Division League in March 2026

Officials have agreed to prepare for the Martyrs’ Memorial A-Division Football League to be held in March 2026, the Youth and Sports Ministry announced Tuesday. The decision followed a meeting between ANFA officials, representatives of A-Division clubs, and the Football Players’ Association. A new political party named Janadesh Party Nepal has been formed under the leadership of advocate Raman Kumar Karn, who also serves as the secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association. The party has a 75-member central committee. Journalist Rishi Dhamala has been announced as the party’s patron, while Karn will lead as the chairperson. Koshi Province identity leaders to join Kulman Ghising’s Ujyalo Nepal Party

Identity politics leaders from Koshi Province are set to be incorporated into the Ujyalo Nepal Party, which is being established by Energy Minister Kulman Ghising. According to identity activist and Ilam-2 by-election candidate Dakendra Thegim, Saraswati Limbu Saru from Taplejung will become a central committee member of the new party. Dr. Mahendra Lawoti from Panchthar and Thegim from Ilam will also be included as central members. Thegim had contested the Ilam-2 by-election under the election symbol of Mudra, representing Mayor Harka Sampang of Dharan.

Nepali Congress Central Working Committee resumes meeting in Sanepa

Sudan Gurung, supported by Balen Shah and Sumana Shrestha, to launch new political party

Talks between Energy Minister Kulman Ghising and leader Sudan Gurung, who emerged from the Gen-Z movement, failed to reach an agreement on forming a joint political party. After two rounds of discussions at Ghising’s residence on Tuesday morning, the leaders decided to go separate ways. Ghising had proposed that Gurung and his group join his planned party, Ujyalo Nepal, with former Energy Secretary Anup Kumar Upadhyay as its leader. However, Gurung and his associates were not satisfied with the arrangements, especially regarding party leadership and ownership tied to the Gen-Z movement.

Gold price surges by nearly Rs 5,000 per tola in a single day

The price of gold has surged by nearly Rs 5,000 per tola on Tuesday. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, gold is being traded at Rs 246,400 per tola today, up by Rs 4,900 from the previous day’s price of Rs 241,500.

Nicholas Bhusal released on Rs 50,000 bail

Nicholas Bhusal, who had been in police custody since Kartik 18 for allegedly making statements that threatened public peace and security, was released on Tuesday after paying a bail of Rs 50,000, Kathmandu police spokesperson SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai confirmed. On Monday, a bench of Supreme Court justices Nahakul Subedi and Nripdhoj Niraula ordered that Bhusal be released on bail or temporary release, directing the necessary procedures to be followed.

Sudan Gurung pulls out after failed talks; six Gen-Z coordinators excluded from Ujyalo Nepal

After failing to reach an agreement with Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, Gen-Z activist Sudan Gurung has decided to form a new political party. Gurung had initially planned to merge his group with Ghising’s Ujyalo Nepal Party and include six provincial coordinators from “The Council of Gen-Z.” However, talks held in two rounds on Tuesday did not yield an agreement, and Gurung withdrew.
