One dead at Mechinagar-based Manavsewa Ashram, 11 deaths in a year



JHAPA: A 53-year-old man residing at the Manavsewa Ashram in Mechinagar Municipality-4, Jhapa, has died while asleep, police said.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka of the District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as Ashraful Muslim, who had been rescued and sent to the ashram by the Shivasatakshi Municipality on October 6.

Police confirmed that Muslim was found dead in his bed on Thursday morning.

With this incident, the number of deaths among residents at the Manavsewa Ashram in Jhapa has reached 11 within the past year, raising questions about the living conditions and health monitoring of individuals sheltered there.
