One killed, 21 injured in Doti road accident



DOTI: One person died and 21 others were injured in a road accident in Doti district on Friday morning.

According to police, the accident occurred at Jorayal Rural Municipality–2 along the Bhimdutta Highway when a passenger bus (Su.Pa.01001 Kha 3956) heading to Dhangadhi from Achham went out of control and fell about 100 meters down the road.

The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Harina Pariyar of Mangalsen Municipality, Achham.

The injured are undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi, with several reported to be in serious condition, said the Sudurpaschim Province Traffic Police Office in Attariya.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the accident occurred due to overspeeding. Police said further investigation is underway.
