PM applauds HPV Vaccination Campaign for over one million doses administered



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) KP Oli expressed his gratitude to all the concerned agencies for the successful administration of the HPV vaccine against cervical cancer to over one million adolescent girls across the country.

In a social media post today, PM Oli thanked the managers, health workers, volunteers, teachers, guardians, and both government and non-government agencies for their contributions to the HPV vaccination campaign.

“The nationwide HPV vaccination campaign, which began on February 4, is gaining momentum. Over one million adolescent girls have already received the vaccine. The campaign will continue until February 18,” PM Oli wrote.

Dr. Abhiyan Gautam, Chief of the Child Health and Vaccination Section at the Department of Health Services, reported that by February 10, a total of 1,016,771 adolescent girls had received the HPV vaccine, marking the sixth day of the vaccination drive.
