Valentine’s Day sees a dull bloom amid economic recession

KATHMANDU: Flower vendors in Kathmandu are experiencing low sales ahead of Valentine’s Day, as the ongoing economic recession dampens consumer spending.

Roses, typically in high demand during the holiday, are being sold for Rs 100 to Rs 150 each, with bouquets priced between Rs 500 and Rs 2000.

Despite the significance of the day, which is traditionally celebrated with rose gifting, many flower shops remain quiet with fewer customers.

Traders are concerned about the decline in sales, attributing the slowdown to the financial struggles affecting the general public.
