Driver dead, 13 injured in Makawanpur road accident



MAKAWANPUR: A car driver died and 13 were injured in a road mishap at Manahari-6 of Makawanpur district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Surendralal Shrestha, 60, of ward no 4 in the Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City in Makawanpur district, according to the District Police Office (DPO), Hetauda.

The accident took place when a car (Ba 16 Cha 8324) heading towards Hetauda from Chitwan collided with another jeep (Bagmati Province 01-026 Cha 5250) moving towards Chitwan from Birjung, informed DSP Shyamu Aryal at the DPO, Hetauda.

Three people travelling in the car and 10 people in jeep were seriously hurt in the mishap, shared DSP Aryal. He further said that a majority of the injured ones have received bruises in their hands, feet and other parts of their body.

The identity of the jeep driver is yet to be ascertained as of writing of this news, police said.

All injured ones were sent to Alive Hospital at Bharatpur for further treatment, shared DSP Aryal.
