Maoist Centre vice chair Shrestha stresses on dignified journalism



KASKI: CPN (Maoist Centre) senior vice chair Narayankaji Shrestha has suggested to disseminate fact based information.

At the sixth district convention of the Press Centre Nepal Kaski chapter in Pokhara today, he urged media persons to perform their role accordingly, as responsible and honest journalism is necessary in the midst of blurred politics.

Leader Shrestha asked the media to always voice for good governance, national independence and public interest.

“Journalism should lead society on the right path. He said, “Recently, due to corrupted political practices, the role of journalists is more important to bring it on the right track.”

Addressing the same event, Ramakrishna Adhikari, Treasurer of FNJ, Nirmal Gyawali, vice chair of Press Center Nepal and other media persons expressed their views on rights and duties of journalists.

Journalist Deepak Pariyar was honored with the Thaman Pariyar Memorial Journalism Award at the event.
