Nagdhunga–Naubise–Malekhu road to remain partially closed for a week from today

KATHMANDU: The Nagdhunga–Naubise–Malekhu road section will remain partially closed for a week starting today as authorities begin blacktopping and upgrading works along the highway.

According to the Nagdhunga–Muglin Road Project (Eastern Section), vehicular movement will be halted for five hours daily, from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, until December 16 to allow uninterrupted construction activity.

The project office said traffic needs to be stopped to cut through rocky cliffs at the risky Pokharebhir area in the Galchhi–Gajuri section of Dhading, where the road is being widened. Similarly, blacktopping works between Nagdhunga and Piple Mod require complete suspension of vehicle flow during working hours.

Vehicles heading toward Naubise from Kathmandu will be stopped at the Nagdhunga check post. Those coming toward Kathmandu from Muglin will be halted at Khanikhola, Naubise, Jangekhola and Thakre.

Likewise, vehicles traveling from Naubise toward Muglin will be held at Galchhi, Baireni and Mastar, while vehicles heading from Muglin toward Naubise will be stopped at Malekhu, the project office said.
