KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the CPN-UML has been postponed due to incomplete preparations, according to the party’s central office secretary Dr. Bhishma Adhikari.
The meeting, which was originally scheduled for October 13–15, will now be held from October 15–17 in Kathmandu.
Adhikari said the delay was necessary to allow time for final preparations, including setting the meeting agenda and logistical arrangements.
The party’s central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, suffered arson and vandalism during the recent Gen-Z protest, which disrupted regular operations and preparations for the key gathering.
Meanwhile, the UML Secretariat is meeting today to finalize the agenda for the upcoming Central Committee session. The meeting is expected to review the current political situation, discuss organizational management, and assess the party’s internal dynamics following the Gen-Z movement.
Party leaders said discussions will also focus on the possibility of early elections, the government’s potential policy decisions, and Chairman KP Sharma Oli’s recent consultations with provincial, district, and diaspora chapter heads.
