Death toll in Gen-Z protests reaches 30, over 1,000 injured



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed that 30 people have died during the ongoing Gen-Z protests, while more than 1,000 have been injured.

According to the ministry, a total of 1,033 people sustained injuries during the demonstrations. Of these, 713 have been discharged after treatment, while 253 remain hospitalized across the country.

Civil Service Hospital received the highest number of patients, with 436 admitted. Of them, 344 have been discharged, while six people died during treatment. Similarly, of the 161 brought to Trauma Center, 58 remain under treatment and eight have died.

In Nepalgunj, Bheri Hospital treated 28 injured, five of whom died. Other fatalities were reported from different hospitals: two at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, three at Frontline Hospital, one at Teaching Hospital, two at KMC, and three at Everest Hospital.

In total, patients have been treated at 28 hospitals nationwide.
