HUMLA: The general public and government offices in district headquarters, Simkot, have been facing hassles owing to disruption of electricity for four days.
The power supply was cut off due to problem in a power house under the Hildum Distribution Centre of Nepal Electricity Authority.
Information officer at the Distribution Centre, Krishna Prasad Oli, said Unit-9 of the control room had hitches, resulting in discontinuation of power production. The available technical workforce in the district is not able to fix the problem, so it would take time for the arrival of skilled technicians.
The technicians would arrive with maintenance tools. However, it is not sure when they arrive here to solve the pressing problem, Oli added.
The government and non-government offices, banking and financial institutions, media, entrepreneurs, health offices and general public have been facing sheer inconvenience for lack of electricity. However, few government offices have managed solar energy to meet the demands of service seekers.
The affected people have demanded the district administration to exert pressure on the concerned agency to repair the system at the earliest to restore power supply or ensure an alternative.
