Two teenagers missing after drowning in Karnali River



KARNALI: Two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, have gone missing in the Karnali River from separate locations after reportedly drowning while swimming.

In Kalikot, a 16-year-old boy identified as Biraj Bista of Narharinath Rural Municipality-1, Kotbada, disappeared while swimming near Jarkot in Pachaljharana Rural Municipality, according to the District Police Office, Kalikot.

Similarly, in Dailekh, 15-year-old Bhupendra Sawan of Daunsur, Chamundabindrasaini Municipality-9, went missing while swimming at Lamaduwala Ghat on Friday afternoon, informed DSP Ganesh Bahadur Baral of the District Police Office, Dailekh.

Police say both teenagers are still unaccounted for. Search operations involving local residents, Nepal Police, and the Armed Police Force are ongoing.
