Action taken against four firms, fines imposed



KATHMANDU: The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has taken action against four industries and firms during its ongoing market monitoring and inspection campaign.

The Nyano Nepali Sirak Udhyog in Madhyapur Thimi has been fined Rs 20,000, while Shree Chonga Ganesh Hardware and Krishna Plywood and Paint in Bhaktapur’s Sallaghari area have each been fined Rs 10,000. Imran Readymade, located in Kathmandu Metropolitan City–16, has also been fined Rs 10,000.

According to the Department, the firm was prosecuted under Sections 15 and 38 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2075. On Monday, officials inspected 15 firms across Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. The Department reported that 11 businesses were issued general directives to make necessary improvements and comply with legal requirements.
