KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has called for easy access to justice for the common citizen and emphasized the need for speedy justice delivery.
Speaking at a program organized by the Supreme Court on the occasion of Law Day on Friday, President Paudel stated, “In line with the spirit of the Constitution of Nepal and current needs, new laws should be formulated, and existing laws should be amended to make them more contemporary and accessible, utilizing modern methods and technology.”
He further stressed the importance of expediting the management of cases to ensure speedy justice.
The President highlighted that public trust in the judiciary is crucial to maintaining the rule of law and preventing the erosion of judicial values.
On the occasion of Law Day, President Paudel wished everyone positive thinking, encouragement, and inspiration to uphold the rule of law and strengthen public trust in the judiciary.
He discussed how the Constitution of Nepal guarantees a system committed to democratic values, including a federal democratic republic, civil liberties, fundamental rights, human rights, an independent judiciary, and the rule of law.
The President noted that the justice and legal system has a critical responsibility in protecting and promoting a just society while adhering to these values.
