Compensation provided to 143 affected people in conservation area



DARCHULA: The Api Nampa Conservation Area Office has decided to distribute financial compensation to 143 individuals affected by wildlife damage in the conservation area.

Manoj Awasthi, the Information Officer at the office, stated that the compensation will be provided to residents of the conservation area for losses incurred due to wildlife, including the loss of life, livestock, and crops.

So far, in the current fiscal year, 105 people have received compensation, and 38 others have been recommended for the same, Awasthi informed. Last fiscal year, the office had distributed Rs 1.5 million as compensation to 142 individuals.
