APF ramps up border surveillance with 312 patrols, 1,844 checkpoints in 48 hours



KATHMANDU: In response to recent regional security concerns, the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal has intensified its border surveillance by deploying 312 patrol teams and establishing 1,844 checkpoints within a 48-hour period, according to APF Deputy Superintendent and Deputy Spokesperson Shailendra Thapa.

Between Baisakh 23 and 25, the APF conducted 84 joint patrols with India’s Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and 228 solo patrols along the border. Over 10,000 APF personnel have been mobilized from various units as part of this operation.

The APF is also working closely with Nepal Police, the National Investigation Department, local officials, and community members to boost monitoring efforts while maintaining the traditional flow of cross-border movement.
