Industrialization policy based on agriculture utmost: Chair Dahal



KATHMANDU:  CPN Maoist Centre)  chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stressed the necessity of adopting a policy of industrialization based on agriculture, along with increasing agricultural production for the development of a self-reliant economy in the country.

Addressing the third plenum of the central committee of the All Nepal Farmers’ Federation (Revolutionary Centre) today, he stated that it is essential to take fundamental steps for agricultural production growth and industrialization starting from the local levels.

“We must advance the journey of socialism from the local level, based on agricultural production,” Chair Dahal said. “We need to focus on increasing and processing local production and establishing small industries to enhance employment across the country.”

Former Prime Minister Dahal said “My government prioritized the distribution of farmers’ pensions and farmer identification cards, but this has now been obstructed”.

During the meeting, the chair of the federation, Chitra Bahadur Shrestha, presented a brief report.
