Heavy rainfall likely in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki



KATHMANDU: Weather conditions are set to intensify today, with the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology forecasting heavy rainfall in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Hilly regions in particular are likely to see significant precipitation, while other areas across the country may experience moderate showers and overcast skies.

Similarly, moderate rainfall is expected at some places in the hilly and Tarai regions of Koshi and Lumbini provinces, and at a few locations in the hilly and Tarai regions of the remaining provinces.

The weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in the hilly areas of the country, including Koshi and Lumbini provinces, while the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy conditions throughout the day.

By tonight, the weather is forecast to remain generally cloudy across the country. Moderate rainfall is likely at some places in the hilly and Tarai areas of Koshi, Lumbini, and Madhesh provinces, and at a few locations in the hilly and Tarai areas of other provinces.

Additionally, there is a chance of heavy rainfall at one or two places in the hilly region of Koshi Province.

Although the monsoon continues to influence the country, the impact of moisture-laden air has weakened slightly as of today, the Department added.
