Monsoon winds affecting Koshi Province, light rain expected



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that westerly and local winds are currently influencing the western and central regions of the country, while monsoon winds are affecting most parts of Koshi Province.

According to the Division, the weather is currently partly to generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, while other parts of the country remain mostly clear.

Light to moderate rainfall with lightning has been recorded at one or two locations in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces.

This afternoon, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly areas, including Koshi Province, with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies in the rest of the country.

There is a likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning at a few locations in Koshi Province and at isolated places in the hilly regions of other provinces.

Tonight, partly cloudy skies are expected over the hilly regions, including Koshi Province, while the rest of the country will see mostly clear conditions.

Light to moderate rainfall with lightning is possible at a few places in Koshi Province and at one or two locations in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.
