RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane to be produced in Rupandehi District Court today



KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane, who was arrested in connection with the Supreme Cooperative fraud and organized crime case, is set to be produced at the Rupandehi District Court today (Monday).

Lamichhane was taken to Rupandehi on Saturday morning following a High Court order to detain him at the Tulsipur detention center. However, due to public holidays on Saturday and Sunday, he has been held in the custody of the District Police Office in Rupandehi.

Police will now present him before the court to complete the legal proceedings before sending him to detention.

Lamichhane was earlier released on bail of Rs 10 million by the District Court on January 26.

He later filed a petition at the High Court seeking to cancel the bail order and be released on a regular date. The High Court, however, overturned the previous decision, leading to his re-arrest.
