KATHMANDU: Nepali diaspora organizations in the United States have donated $226,000 to support victims of the Bhotekoshi floods.
A cheque for the amount was handed over to Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal, who is in New York to attend the 81st United Nations General Assembly, according to the minister’s private secretariat.
Of the total amount donated by three diaspora organizations, $120,000 was contributed by NH Nepali Society, $93,000 by America Nepal Helping Society and $13,000 by Gurung Society. Minister Khanal expressed gratitude to all three organizations for their support to the victims of the disaster in their homeland.
