Lawmakers draw govt’s attention on various contemporary issues

KATHMANDU: Lawmakers have drawn the attention of the government on various contemporary issues in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives.

During an emergency hour, Rekha Sharma demanded the government to address the demand of Swargadwari Guthi victims, saying people have been facing problems in lack of Guthi-related laws.

Swargadwari Guthi victims have been staging protest at Maitighar. Similarly, Ashok Kumar Chaudhary drew government’s attention to address the demand of Mohi (tenant) farmers of Swargadwari Guthi.

Likewise, Metmani Chaudhary mentioned that the government has turned its deaf ears to the demand of Swargadwari Guthi victims and agitating victims have started falling sick.

Nagina Yadav accused the Kathmandu metropolis of creating unnecessary problem to scrap entrepreneurs, asking security of life and property of the scrap collectors and dealers registered as per the law.

Similarly, Chhabi Lal Bishwokarma and Prabhu Sah shared that the government should inquired about the matter of killing and missing of some Nepalis in the stampede occurred in Maha Kumbha festival in India.

Stating that 11 workers were injured in a fire at a momo shop in Kamalpokhari on February 6, Ammar Bahadur Rayamajhi demanded the government for the arrangement of treatment to injured free of cost and investigation into the case.

Likewise, Lekhnath Dahal raised concern about delay in relief, rehabilitation of landslide and flood victims and reconstruction of damaged properties.
