KATHMANDU: Pokhara Avengers defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 8 wickets in the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Saturday.
Chasing a target of 121, Pokhara reached 122 runs in 19 overs, losing only two wickets. Adam Rossington top-scored with 65 off 48 balls, hitting four fours and five sixes. Arjun Kumal remained unbeaten on 43 off 53 balls, with two fours and one six.
For Chitwan, Rijan Dhakal and Saif Zaib took one wicket each.
Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Chitwan posted 120 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Dev Khanal scored the highest 35 runs off 41 balls, including one four and one six.
Alpesh Ramjani added 33 runs off 22 balls with one four and two sixes, while Kushal Malla contributed 23 off 23 deliveries.
For Pokhara, Dhananjaya Lakshan claimed three wickets, while Kiran Thagunna, Rohit Chand, and Bipin Khatri took one wicket each.
