Major highways across Nepal blocked due to continuous rainfall

KATHMANDU: Continuous rainfall on Friday and Saturday has obstructed most major highways across the country. From the Mechi Highway in the east to the Mid-Hill and BP Highways, several key road sections have been completely blocked, according to Nepal Police.

Traffic along the Madan Bhandari Highway has resumed partially and is operating in a one-way system, police confirmed.

Currently, the Koshi, Siddhicharan, Mechi, Mid-Hill, Pasang Lhamu, Araniko, BP, Kanti Lokpath, and the Kulekhani–Sisneri–Dakshinkali–Kathmandu road sections remain closed due to landslides and flooding triggered by the continuous downpour.
