Can’t comment on Madhav Nepal case, it’s now a legal matter: Gagan Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has stated that he will not comment on the corruption case filed against former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, as the matter is now under the jurisdiction of the court.

Speaking to journalists at the Biratnagar Airport today, Thapa said the case should be resolved with due respect, given Nepal’s stature as a former prime minister.

On internal party matters, Thapa said the issue of active membership in the Nepali Congress must be settled before the party’s upcoming general convention.

He stressed that all party leaders should finalize membership renewals and disputes within their respective constituencies without delay.

Calling for responsible leadership within the party, Thapa also remarked that the government must work effectively to win the trust of the people, and that current efforts should be critically reviewed to ensure better outcomes.
