Minister Chaudhary discusses relief efforts with lawmakers after Bhotekoshi floods

KATHMANDU: Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Environment Geeta Chaudhary held discussions with federal lawmakers on Saturday regarding the immediate delivery of relief supplies to areas affected by the Bhotekoshi floods.

During the discussion, Minister Chaudhary stressed the need for effective coordination among concerned agencies to promptly deliver essential supplies, including food, clean drinking water, medicines and clothing, to affected residents.

According to the minister’s secretariat, she said an action plan would be developed to identify the needs of affected communities and ensure the systematic and effective supply and distribution of relief materials.

The meeting also discussed coordinating among government agencies, local governments and other stakeholders to provide immediate assistance and streamline the distribution of relief supplies in the affected areas.

Participants included Ashok Kumar Chaudhary, chairperson of the House of Representatives’ Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee; Samiksha Baskota, chairperson of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee; and lawmakers Suresh Chaudhary, Janak Singh Dhami, Ojaswi Shrechan, Dharma KC, Anushka Shrestha, Shraddha Kunwar, Srijana Shrestha and Ram Lama.
