KATHMANDU: A Buddha Air flight bound for Chandragadhi, Jhapa, made an emergency landing at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu on Monday morning.
The aircraft, with call sign BHA 953, departed Kathmandu at 10:37 am and returned for an emergency landing at 11:15 am.
According to Jagannath Niraula, General Manager of TIA’s Civil Aviation Office, the plane experienced a flameout in its left engine approximately 43 nautical miles east of Kathmandu.
Following the issue, the flight crew safely landed the aircraft back at TIA.
The plane was carrying 72 passengers and four crew members, all of whom were reported to be safe.
