Animal Ambulance now operational in Nepalgunj

BANKE: Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City has launched an ‘Animal Ambulance’ service to rescue and transport injured, sick, weak, or disabled animals to veterinary hospitals or shelters.

With this new service in operation, the rescue and treatment of vulnerable animals—particularly stray animals injured in road accidents—will now become more efficient, said Achyut Gautam, Chief of the Sub-metropolitan City’s Animal Health Branch.

The ambulance was provided by the NGO Animal Nepal, which officially handed it over to the local government to support animal welfare efforts in the city.

Mayor Prashant Bista expressed his commitment to fully utilize the ambulance for animal rescue and management. “This service will significantly help in the timely treatment and protection of stray animals,” he said.

Shobha Rayamajhi, President of Animal Nepal, added that the ambulance was donated to assist with the safe and humane transportation of animals in need of medical care or shelter.
