Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak arrested, held at Maharajgunj barracks



KATHMANDU: Former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak has been arrested by Nepal Police and is being held at the No. 2 Battalion in Maharajgunj.

Police arrested him from his residence in Katuwanj, Bhaktapur, on Saturday morning. Family sources confirmed that he is currently at the Maharajgunj barracks.

According to police, the arrest was carried out in line with the recommendations of the commission headed by former Justice Gauribahadur Karki, which was formed to investigate the Gen Z Movement.

During the Gen Z Movement, Lekhak’s private residence was damaged in a fire, forcing him to live in a rented house in Sunar Binayak Municipality–5, Katuwanj.
