One killed in motorcycle-bus collision in Jhapa



BHADRAPUR: One person was killed in a road accident involving a passenger bus and a motorcycle on the East-West Highway in Damak-7 last evening.

According to the Jhapa District Police Office, the accident occurred when a bus (Me 1 Kha 3027) en route from Damak to Kerkha collided with a motorcycle (Pr 01-02-052 Pa 2211) coming from the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist, Milan Thapa, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Arya Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar for treatment but died during treatment, said Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, the police information officer.

Following the incident, police have taken the bus driver, Sarkar Tudu of Gauradaha-4, Jhapa, and both vehicles into custody for investigation.
