MUSTANG: Stakeholders have emphasized the need to develop the Muktinath area into a well-rounded religious tourism hub.
Chief District Officer (CDO) Bishnu Prasad Bhusal stated that efforts will be made to encourage longer stays by tourists visiting the Muktinath Temple. On Saturday, an 11-member team led by CDO Bhusal visited the Muktinath area to identify potential opportunities for promoting religious tourism.
According to Bhusal, a trekking route approximately four kilometers long should be constructed to connect the temple with three other religious heritage sites in the area.
“The Muktinath Development Committee, together with local residents, will move forward with the construction of the trekking route,” he added.
The team also conducted a preliminary feasibility study to assess the potential of integrating alternative religious heritage sites into the broader tourism circuit.
