Jhapa Transport Office collects Rs 820 million in revenue in nine months



JHAPA: The Transport Management Office in Jhapa has collected Rs 821.648 million in revenue during the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2081/082. In the month of Chaitra alone, the office recorded revenue of Rs 157.82 million.

According to Office Chief Prem Prasad Sapkota, the revenue includes Rs 696.225 million from vehicle tax collection, Rs 96.606 million from transport-related income, and Rs 121.289 million from fees related to driver’s licenses and vehicle registration documents.

Sapkota further informed that 9,954 new vehicles were registered in the district over the nine-month period. By the end of the previous fiscal year 2080/081, a total of 26,884 vehicles had been registered.

Among the newly registered vehicles in the current fiscal year, motorcycles topped the list with 3,236 units, followed by 2,549 e-rickshaws, 2,345 scooters, 579 e-scooters, 180 cars, 176 tractors, 168 jeeps, 108 buses, 93 e-cars, 52 trucks, 20 tippers, 19 microbuses, and four ambulances.
