Ophthalmologist Dr. Ruit awarded Shreepati Social Service National Award



POKHARA: This year’s Shreepati Social Service National Award was presented to renowned ophthalmologist Prof. Dr. Sanduk Ruit in Pokhara.

The award, established by the Shreepati Koirala Guthi in Pokhara Metropolis-9, Mahendrapul, recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions in health and humanitarian services, elevating the country’s reputation on the international stage.

Dr. Ruit, the Executive Director and founder of the Tilganga Eye Foundation, was honored with a cash prize of Rs 222,222, the Shreepati Social Service Medal, and a copper plaque.

The award was presented at the 32nd Annual General Meeting of the Guthi on Saturday by Dipendra Marsani, Chair of Pokhara Ward-9, among others.

During the ceremony, Dr. Ruit expressed that the award would inspire him to take on greater responsibility and continue his work in social service.
