E-Sports National Championship returns in February with record prize pool

KATHMANDU: The second E-Sports National Championship, organized by the E-Sports Association Nepal (ESAN) and managed by Nepal Plays, is set to take place on February 20 to 22.

The championship is offering the highest prize pool seen in Nepali e-sports so far.

President of ESAN, Anjan Dhamala announced that the competition will feature popular five e-sports games like e-football, Mobile Legends, PUBG Mobile, Dota 2 and Valorant.

The qualifying rounds will take place online, while the final rounds will be held physically at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu.

The finals will see eight players competing in e-football, 16 teams in PUBG Mobile, two teams in Mobile Legends, and four teams each in Dota 2 and Valorant.

ESAN said the championship boasts a prize pool of Rs 2.5 million, the largest amount ever offered in Nepali e-sports.

Winners and runners-up from the five categories will receive prizes.

Registration for the championship, which opens on January 4, is free and can be done through the Khalti app. Players interested in participating can register via the app.

ESAN also said actor and director Nischal Basnet has been named the brand ambassador for the championship.
