KATHMANDU: The central committee meeting of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) commenced this morning at the Swayambhu Star Banquet.

The session, which began at 7 am, focuses on various organizational and political matters, according to the party’s acting general secretary, Kabindra Burlakoti.

The meeting’s agenda includes a review of the recent local-level by-elections, an assessment of the party’s organizational performance, and strategic planning for future activities.

Burlakoti said discussions will cover organizational strengthening, awareness campaigns, leadership development through a leadership academy, the establishment of a candidate club and blueprint framework, and enhanced provincial coordination mechanisms.

The session is attended by central committee members, invited members, and representatives from the central organization department, training department, and provincial general secretaries.

In a separate session restricted to central committee members, the agenda includes deliberations on the Cooperative Ordinance 2024, parliamentary bills, and the party’s official positions on key legislative matters. Additionally, preliminary discussions will be held on restructuring the party for greater efficacy.

The meeting is seen as a significant step in the RSP’s efforts to refine its strategies and enhance its organizational framework amidst evolving political challenges.
