Scattered rain today with heavier showers expected at night



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has predicted scattered rainfall across Nepal today, with heavier showers expected during the night compared to the afternoon.

According to the Division, this afternoon, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in many parts of the hilly regions, including Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as some other areas of the country.

Heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Additionally, a few high hilly and mountainous areas may experience light to moderate rain or snowfall.

Tonight, the rainfall is expected to intensify. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is forecast in many parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with some other areas.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light to moderate rain or snowfall is also possible in some high hilly and mountainous regions.

Residents have been advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions during this period of increased rainfall.
