Simkot begins issuing citizenship recommendations online

HUMLA: Simkot Rural Municipality, located at the district headquarters, Humla, has started providing citizenship recommendations through an online system from Monday.

Aiming to make the citizenship certificate process more systematic and technology-driven, the service was launched in Ward-4, Buraunse.

On the first day, one woman and two men received recommendations online, said the rural municipality’s information officer, Tshiring Yungdung Lama.

He explained that the municipality is now issuing recommendations through the Centralized Citizenship Information Management System (CCIMS).

After the system’s implementation, Simkot will collect the necessary documents from applicants and submit recommendations online.

Lama said that with the introduction of the online system, documentation will become easier, service delivery faster and more technology-friendly, and the misuse of false or fabricated information in citizenship applications will be curbed.

The electronic system will also help integrate all processes and maintain records efficiently. This service, which began in Ward-4, Buraunse, is planned to be expanded to all wards soon.
