Over 800 benefit from passport renewal and health camp in UAE

KATHMANDU: More than 800 Nepali nationals have benefited from a passport renewal service camp organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi. The two-day camp was held from April 30 to May 1.

In addition to the passport services, the Embassy also hosted a free health camp on Friday for Nepali migrant workers in the UAE. Over 300 individuals took advantage of the medical services provided at the event.

A team led by Dr. Yashir Shrestha from Ahilya Hospital in Abu Dhabi offered free screenings for eye health, diabetes, and blood pressure.

Dr. Shrestha also engaged with attendees, sharing insights into both physical and mental health issues and suggesting practical solutions, as per information from the Nepali Embassy.

The event also included awareness sessions on labor rights and welfare issues. Consular services such as document certification were provided as part of the program.

The Embassy has been regularly organizing awareness and support programs focusing on the health and labor rights of Nepali workers in the UAE.

During this particular camp, volunteers from the Non-Resident Nepali Association UAE and Nepali Society UAE supported the effort by managing a dedicated passport renewal counter.

The Embassy reiterated its ongoing commitment to delivering efficient and accessible services, including simplifying and expediting the passport renewal process.

It stated that such outreach camps with special service counters will continue to be organized based on demand.
