MANTHALI: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising has inspected and monitored BP Highway and the Mid-Hill Highway along with surrounding roads and bridges.

The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure has stated that Minister Ghising inspected the damaged physical structures and the damaged bridges and infrastructures on important road sections in Kavrepalanchok, Sindhuli and Ramechhap districts and gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials.

Minister Ghising, who came from the federal capital Kathmandu to his home district Ramechhap via the BP Highway, inquired about the progress of work on the BP Highway, the Khaireni Ghat Bridge, and the repair of the Mid-Hills Highway.

He stated that structures damaged or destroyed due to floods and landslides need to be repaired temporarily as soon as possible, and mentioned that he instructed the concerned authorities to construct ‘Bailey bridges’ and ‘culverts’ in place of the collapsed permanent bridges and to fill the potholes on the roads for smooth traffic operation and management.
