13 gamblers arrested in Bhaktapur



BHAKTAPUR: Police arrested 13 individuals for gambling in two separate incidents in Bhaktapur.

In the first incident, 10 people, including 42-year-old Phurba Thing of Sindhuli’s Marin Rural Municipality, were apprehended while playing cards at a snack shop in Chapacho, Madhyapur Thimi Municipality.

Officers from the District Police Range, Bhaktapur, confiscated Rs 59,550 in cash and five decks of playing cards during the raid.

Later that evening, police arrested three more individuals, including 32-year-old Sujan Dahal of Tadi Rural Municipality-3, Nuwakot, from a snack shop in Lokanthali, also within Madhyapur Thimi Municipality. Police seized Rs 63,500 in cash and nine decks of cards.

Authorities said investigations into both incidents are underway.
