Pedestrian killed in truck accident on East-West Highway



HETAUDA: A 70-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a truck in Manahari Rural Municipality-8 along the Bagmati-East-West Highway.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Aryal, spokesperson for the District Police Office, the victim has been identified as Ganga Bahadur Syangtan of Raksirang Rural Municipality-9.

He was hit by a truck (Na 5 Kha 7712) traveling from Hetauda to Chitwan while attempting to cross the road on Friday morning.

Syangtan died at the scene. Police have taken the truck and its driver into custody for investigation.
