RPP leader Bohara’s funeral held



KATHMANDU: The funeral of Deepak Bohara, founding leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and member of the House of Representatives, was held today. He passed away on Tuesday at the age of 76 while undergoing treatment.

Bohara’s final rites were conducted at Pashupati Aryaghat following Hindu customs. His sons, Gaurav Bohara and Prajwol Bohara, performed the last rites.

Speaker of the House Devraj Ghimire, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey, as well as RPP leaders and supporters, paid their respects at Aryaghat.

RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden also laid the party flag on Bohara’s body as a tribute.

Earlier, a memorial program organized by RPP saw the participation of Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, CPN (Unified Socialist) General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal, Nepali Congress leader Arjun Nar Singh KC, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chief Whip Hit Raj Pandey, CPN (UML) Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai, and other leaders and party members who honored Bohara’s memory.
