Nepal, Thailand sign key agreements on tourism, culture, and trade cooperation



KATHMANDU: Several agreements have been signed between Nepal and Thailand during Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official visit to Thailand.

According to Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to enhance cooperation in the tourism sector between the two countries.

Additionally, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Thai Chamber of Commerce, along with the Board of Trade of Thailand, have reached an understanding to foster mutual cooperation and promote trade and business.

“On behalf of the Government of Nepal, I have signed a Cultural Agreement between the Government of Nepal and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Nepal and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand on Tourism Cooperation,” Foreign Minister Dr. Rana said.

Several other agreements have also been signed between our countries’ non-government industries.

Together, these initiatives will facilitate the strengthening of Nepal-Thailand ties across sectors, she added.

Today, Prime Minister Oli and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra met, following which the various agreements were finalized.
