Ekantakumari, Ganakumaris worshipped at Taleju



BHAKTAPUR: Ekantakumari, the living goddess in Bhaktapur, as well as 11 Ganakumaris were worshiped at Taleju Temple in the district today.

The worship was performed as per the tradition of worshipping Ekantakumari and Ganakumaris on the occasion of Nawami every year, said chief priest of Taleju Temple, Narendra Prasad Joshi.

The Kumari jatra was observed after brining Ekantakumari Luniva Bajracharya at Agamghar of Taleju, he added. After worshipping Kumari at Chatubrahma Mahabihar (Monastery), she was enthroned at Taleju.

Total 54 he-goats, 32 he-buffaloes and 24 ducks were sacrificed as well as other rituals were performed today.
